Samsung UN60KU630D Stuttering - Log Attached

$

I tried playing a 4K movie on the new Samsung UN60KU but it continuously stutters.

I am Direct Streaming the video and transcoding the audio. As Seen here.

In the Attached log, I see several references to buffering, but not sure if it means audio or video.

the Audio is transcoding and throttled, so, there should be no issue with keeping up.

Any Ideas?

Vizio TV no longer accesses Plex

I haven't changed a thing anywhere to anything and all of a sudden My Vizio TV won't connect. At first it said subnet masks were different. They're not. I signed the TV out and back in and now all it does when I start Plex is go to the screen with PLEX on it and sits there until finally it has a message that the network is disconnected. It's not. Also Remote access was working now won't connect. I'm getting sick and tired of this. Always something with Plex. Anyone know what the problem is this time? This may have happened after the last update. Not sure. I haven't used the Vizio for a couple of weeks.

New Vizio TV gives "network disconnected" error when trying to load

New Vizio E40-C2 and I can't get Plex to run within Vizio Apps. This is on a wireless connection. All other apps work fine.
1. Added Plex to main menu
2. Connected via 4 digit pin
3. Error comes on tv "network disconnected. please check your network" (paraphrase).

I've tried factory resets, unchecked "enable local network discovery" as suggested in other posts, and still can't get it to work.

Vizio App is showing version 1.0.1 and I'm running 0.9.16.6 with no other known issues.

VIZIO & PLEX: Connection Disconnected

I'm on 2 new Vizio Smart TVs and both of them have the PLEX app (version 2.4.36) on them.

I'm a paid PLEX user.

Neither TV's Plex app will recognize my internet connection and both TVs give the error:

"The network connection is disconnected. Please check your TV's network settings, Ethernet connection, and/or wireless network then try again."

On both of the affected TVs I'm able to watch Netflix, YouTube, etc. as well as listen to Pandora, so I know the network connection isn't an issue with either device.

The TV in the living room is hardwired into the network. The TV in the kid's bedroom (not featured in this video) is connected wirelessly.

In this video I show 5 devices all connected to my Plex server and working just fine:

  • LG Gpad 8 (Wireless)

  • Acer Chromebook (Wireless)

  • HP Elitepad (Wireless)
  • My PC (Wired)
  • Chromecast (Wireless)

There are tons of threads on the Plex forums of people saying they are having a similar issue and the only solution is to bring in a third-party device like a Chromecast or Roku. While this solution WORKS, it's not ideal since the app on the TVs worked until a few weeks ago.

My Plex server is setup so that "Secure connections" are set to "Preferred" and "Remote Access" is setup and working.

Also, my Plex server is setup on a dedicated laptop running Ubuntu, however I had the same issue when I had Plex server running on my Windows 10 PC. My Plex server is hardwired to the network.

Here's a video demonstration of everything I explained above: image

PLEX app not working on Samsung TV anymore.

I am no longer able to use the Plex app on my Samsung Smart TV UN50EH5300 as it now won't connect or find my server (I had no problem previously when I started 2 years ago)....
I am using the same WIFI connection and IP address which has not changed and the 'Samsung Link' app on TV works fine with connecting to my PC (and YES, I AM signed in to my server on my PC and updates are current).
I have uninstalled the Plex app on my TV numerous times,, and also gone through the 'Plex for Samsung' manual thoroughly but nothing addresses this problem which seems to be with the TV app itself (??)
I can access the Plex server from my Samsung android phone as well....
But as soon as I open the app on my TV a black box pops up saying "Unable to connect to the Plex website!" and hitting the 'Retry" button does nothing except briefly make that pop up disappear. Behind this pop up box is the page that says to "Open browser on your PC , etc. and enter this code:" but the 4 boxes are empty with NO CODE (when I initially installed the Plex app a few years ago that code showed and I had no such set up problems).....
I then tried going to the Home page and clicked "Connect with your Plex Account" which takes me to the 'System' page and 'Sign in to your Plex Account' which also doesn't work (says "Login Failed").
I then went to 'Preferences' and 'Server' and then 'A - Add PMS' to enter the IP address of my server to configure manually but it doesn't recognize it.
Hopefully the "friendly Plex community" can help me with this issue as I have exhausted all troubleshooting in the manual that may have been applicable (although it does NOT address my problem specifically).

Plex & 4K/HDR -- 1) Does it work? 2) How can I demonstrate it to my wife?

Hi,

So -- I bought a 4K/HDR TV because it was time for a less-broken TV but I don't actually have any 4K/HDR sources yet. I want to demonstrate the difference between 1080P/whatever and 2160p/HDR to my wife, though. My thought is to use the Plex app for the TV (an LG with webOS 3.0) and some sample footage from this URL:

http://hdrsamples.com/category/hdr-samples/hdr-trailers/

Will that even work?

The resolution difference isn't so important, but the color difference is (so I am told) very noticeable.

I'm not expecting miracles (hopefully) -- after all, the TV is mid-range but I'd like to be able to point at something and say "this is why this matters". Is there a better approach that I should be taking? My original hope was to find a webOS app that would throw up a non-HDR image/video and then an HDR image/video and toggle between them but that doesn't seem to be a thing as far as I can see.

Plex LG app not working since new laptop

Hi all,

Have been using Plex for years and streamed most to my LG TV via the Plex app.
Since last week I've a new laptop (dell xps 15 with windows 10).

Offcourse one of the first steps was to install Plex Media Server. However for some reason the plex app on LG is not working anymore, the connection is not possible.

I always get the link screen, after being linked successfully i get the unable to connect message.

I've no clue what can be wrong. I already removed the app and reinstalled on the TV.
The strange thing is that in the input devices list I can see the Plex Media Server on my laptop and I'm able to stream.
So we can exclude firewall/network issues in my opinion.

Or does another port need to be opened for streaming via the plex app?
Any advice?

Thanks in advance!

Samsung KS8000 2016 TV

I bought a new KS8000 and noticed that it doesn't output DTS or Dolby from the built in Plex app to my denon-avr-x2200w. I tested the ARC hdmi connection and optical connection and both didn't work. I only get stereo audio. I checked with the netflix app and I am able to get Dolby as I would expect. Also, this was working perfectly with my older Samsung 7100 (2015 model). Is this a Plex bug, are there plans to fix this? If not, I might have to take back the tv :(. Thanks in advance!

Should I go with Samsung?

So I've been using Plex to watch movies on my LG 55LM7600 since I got it in 2012. Needless to say LG is worthless when it comes to updating their TVs, and while the smart functionality was suburb for 2012, they quickly started following short the year after. Round about late 2013 I started hosting my plex server on a Synology NAS which is amazing. The one thing I do like about the LG TV is that the plex server streams through the local network so it's always incredibly fast, despite the horribly outdated and lagging user experience. Other than Plex, I use my TVs for cable and that's the blunt of it so I'm looking for best functionality in a built-in plex player that operates through the local network, not online (sorry if my terminology isn't entirely correct). Is Samsung the best option or should I be looking elsewhere?

Hi!

I update my plex server to the latest version (qnap nas) and now i´m unable to get artwork in my samsung TV.
I´m tried "the list of IP addresses and networks that are allowed without auth" with Samsung IP 192.168.0.10/255.255.255.0 , i tried 192.168.0.0/255.255.255.0 and nothins works. I+m sure the IP and subnet is correct since i get it from the TV and I see it in the log.
Everything works fine in others clients, web, telephone.
I even tried both server and samsung client with sign-in but it was the same resulr.

I get "Request came in with unrecognized domain 'file' in header Referer; treating as non-local" in the log but i don't understand the problem.

Does anyone know the issue ?

Plex on Tivo stopped working

My Tivo Plex App suddenly stopped playing my movies. It launches okay, lists the movies that are in my library, but when I attempt to play one, it looks like it’s loading, then gives the error message “The video did not start playing in time”.

I’m running my Plex server off my Synology NAS (DS1515+), have tried removing and re-installing the Plex server, downgrading, no luck. Movies play fine on my iPhone and iPad.

Anyone have similar issues or ideas on wha to try next?

Plex LG DTS Audio

If I enable DTS support through the settings of the LG plex app and attempt to play any DTS audio videos there is no sound. If I disable the option for DTS audio then any DTS videos use dolby digital. Is there a reason the DTS audio is not working? I had no problems playing DTS from PHT.

Issue playing a title on Samsung TV

I purchased a new TV, Samsung 65KU7500 SmartTV. Ive updated the TV firmware to 1150 and installed the latest version on Plex from the "App Store". I purchased two movies from iTunes and converted them with TunesKit and placed them on my NAS. Both titles play flawlessly on my Xbox One, Apple TV and iPhone. When I attempt to play them on the Samsung TV via the app, one title will play and the other gives the following error.

unknown_error_event_from_player

I have never experienced this issue before and I have been using Plex since 2012. This error appears to be Tizen related but I am unsure if there is something I can do to get this to work and if Ill have issues with this in the future.

Has anyone else came across this and if so/not any suggestions on how to make the bad error go bye bye?

Thanks

BUG: LG Smart TV App DTS 5.1 Audio stopped working via Plex app but works via Smarshare

Hi,

After a recent update (to both server and LG TV App) some video files the audio has stopped working. I've tested via the Smartshare feature (native LG app) and it works when streaming the same video, also tested on other devices (android and PC). One thing i did notice its DTS 5.1 is usually the affected movies.

TV Model: 79UB980T-TA
Plex Server: Version 1.1.4.2757

Please let me know what other information you require

Movies stop playing each 14-16minutes of playtime, consistently.

Hello,

Lately I started having a rather annoying issue, whenever playing a movie, it will stop after 14 to 16minutes of playing.
When it stops playing, the Plex app will show a "Player_error_not_supported_file" message.
Each time this happens, i have to stop the movie and start the movie again from where it left off and after another 14-16 minutes have passed, the same thing happens.

I'm not exactly sure when this issue started but it's possible it started after the latest PMS update?
I've taken a look at the logs and the only thing that popped out was "WARN: Transcoder seems to have died".

I attached a Plex Media Server.log file and a mediainfo txt file(just in case).

  • Aproxx time in the log I start the video: Aug 29, 2016 15:16:10.660
  • Time in the log of first WARN msg: Aug 29, 2016 15:33:11.140 [7636] WARN - Transcode runner appears to have died.

My setup is pretty simple & basic;

  • Plex media server is hosted on my main desktop
  • Samsung UE55KS7000(latest 2016 model) is being used to play movies using the Plex App.
  • Software versions on the Samsung TV: Tizen OS 2.4, Plex TV App 3.0.0(2.7.4)
  • Plex Media Server Version: 1.0.3.2461
  • Desktop hardware: 5820k(6c/12t @ 4.0Ghz), 16GB DDR4, GTX 780, Windows 10 (Build 10586)
  • Transcoding folder is on a Samsung 850 EVO SSD, The media files are stored on a Western Digital 1 TB HDD.
  • All movies are in .mkv format, ranging from 3GB to 32GB in size. It happens to all of them.

I'm hoping one of you know what could be causing this, if you do please let me know.
Thanks in advance!

Is this a limitation of the plex client on this particular TV or is there something I can do to fix it?
not only can I only see my local server on this TV but when I attempt to cast remote servers from the android plex app it just sits there loading indefinitely. Playing the remote servers works fine using plexkodiconnect or using the app on android without casting it to said tv.
